About me

I’m Anita. I LOVE eating Nutella from the jar, hence why I DO NOT count calories. I always overeat and am ENDLESSLY HUNGRY. I love Porridge and honey for breakfast. Freshly baked bread (kneaded and baked by me) with simple fillings for lunch. Anything slow roasted or braised for dinner. Anything that sticks to my hips for dessert. I do not buy anything ready-made. I TRY to do everything from scratch, often resulting in many failed attempts, tears, tantrums a loss of self-control and a huge mess!

I had a stint in magazines. Owned a cafe with my family, had a few casual jobs but what keeps me smiling is cooking and eating. My inspiration is my mum, an amazing cook who learnt from her mother growing up in a small village in Macedonia. My mum is like a lamb shank (my favourite cut of meat), unassuming & small, hearty with balls of steel…that I hope to grow one day!

I’m in my mid twenties. Born in Kocani (Ko-ch-ani), a small town in Macedonia, grew up in Australia (Wollongong), moved to Sydney, now living in Dublin and engaged to an Italian. Mamma Mia! This is why I make my own pasta…besides the fact that it tastes better, I needed to prove to Nonna Maria that I can take care of her grandson, plus I’m terrified of upsetting a Nonna…from the south of Italy! But hey, I wouldn’t have it any other way, home-made pappardelle in a lamb shank ragu-now that’s AMORE!

ENDLESSLY HUNGRY is a documentation of my favourite recipes that have kept me company and given me big warm hugs on those long cold days in Dublin. Recipes from Macedonia, that should never be lost or forgotten. Culinary experiences through Italy (my favourite place) and around the world that I want to share with friends, family and YOU! They seduced my taste sensations, I hope they do the same for you!
